Hello summer! Yes folks, it is officially summer time on San Juan Island. Today, myself and Taylor (reservation staff) and Chris (one of the dock masters!) are holding down the desk and dock at our Roche Harbor location and it is sunny and 75 degrees. One of our guides, Don, said it was so hot he would melt!

We had a very busy weekend. At one point, we had four different multi-day trips out on the water! Our multi-day adventures involve packing up our double and triple sea kayaks with everything that is needed for a two or three camping trip to Jones and Stuart Islands. Believe it or not, that means coolers, camp stoves, tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads and enough food (which is mostly organic and locally grown!) to feed a small army are all packed into boats. Our guests only needed to bring personal clothing. The trips we had out this weekend were both family specific and regular adult trips. Lead guide Katy and I had an awesome time taking out two families with kids ages 7 to 10.

In addition to the multi-day trips, we also successful whale watching and day-trip kayak adventures. Captain Brent and naturalist Kevin saw the killer whales and other interesting wildlife, including Peregrine Falcon fledglings (how cute!). And again with the furry cuteness, we have our otter friend hanging out with us today!

Check back later for updates from our whale watching boat and kayak day-trips that are currently on the water.
