Captain Brian and Naturalist Kevin just got back to the dock from their morning whale watch and they reported seeing all the Ks and Ls traveling together. The Sea Hawk met up with the whales just outside Roche Harbor, near Battleship Island along the Westside of Henry Island (Battleship island is a wildlife refugee for harbor seals, shore birds, and bald eagles…cool stuff!). Brian shut down the engines of the Sea Hawk and floated with the whales for over 1.5 hours. Kevin said that our guests got a awesome view of K21 Cappuccino, a male born in 1986 and L78 Gaia, a male born in 1989. They also had a great encounter with L26 Baba (female, born in 1956), her daughter L90 Ballena (born 1993) and L92 Crewser (male, born in 1995). L92 usually is spotted traveling with L26 & L90 because, sadly, his mother L60 is deceased. L92 is young and healthy though, and will learn tons from Baba & Ballena!

Today is Taylor’s last day for the season. She rocked the reservations desk & dock all summer! Taylor is heading back to the Midwest for college. Kayak guides Emily & Josh are also leaving at the end of this week. They are both heading back to Lake Tahoe. Until next summer!
