The weather has been absolutely stunning the past few days! Sun is shining and it’s a warm and comfortable 65 degrees.

Libby & Katy had a very exciting Family Kayaking Tour yesterday morning. They had a close up encounter with an adult bald eagle perched on drift wood near the shore and saw many species of sea stars including a leather star, bat star, ochre sea star, and a bright orange brittle star! The most common specie of sea star, the ochre sea star, is bright purple. Did you know, the ochre sea star can live to be 20 years old!?

But guess what! They also encountered J & K pods on the west side of Henry Island! Every one was very excited to see Orcas from their kayaks :).

The Center for Whale Research has confirmed that new L pod calf, little L119 who was born only a few weeks ago, is a girl! This is great news for the endangered Southern Resident Killer Whale Community.

We are running whale watch tours on the Sea Hawk and sea kayaking tours all week! Summer is here and we are so pumped!
