Wondrous weather here in the San Juans, however it was a bit touch and go on whale reports at the beginning of the day. However, that was quickly going to change as the day progressed. With all the new baby hoopla it would have been quite a disappointment not to see members of L Pod around the area-luckily the whales aren't ones to disappoint! About halfway down San Juan Island we heard reports of L Pod moving up island from Whidbey Island! Once we arrived at False bay we were greeted with whales in the distance, however it wasn't quite who we expected. The first whale we saw was none other than Cappuccino, a member of K Pod. He has recently been traveling around with member of L Pod, and mainly the lady whales of L Pod..hint hint. He gave guests aboard M/V Sea Hawk some great looks as he foraged for salmon along the westside. All in all it was a great day for some whale watching in the sunny San Juans!
